After Event a Network

After the event, you have achieved your goals, and you got a collection of business cards. A few more events and you can create a right card pyramid and run out of space in your purse. An option is to take a photo on your phone and an album called business cards For this you will never lose them, and you will remember what date and when you receive it. If you want to contact someone still but you haven’t seen them over a year. Message them and let them know your updates, with

Great Networkers

When I have gone to networking and saw great networkers, they genuinely connected to the person. They are interested in the person then trying to promote themselves. They are genuinely listening to a person and conversational net what motivates them and what they think and lead to a connection and be more memorable. With social media and LinkedIn, you can connect with clients and colleagues than keeping updated with details than a business card. However, it is a tool. When I

Scary Place of Networking

You might be a person that the first thing you want to do is to go to a networking event. While speaking to freelancers, consultants and business developers at least 50% of their work come from word of mouth. When you just started in the industry, and you are building up your connections. Word of mouth is underrated than a social media strategy. We create gants chart and discussion on marketing strategy but not your plan for a networking event. I have currently realised tha

Overall Conclusion, Flipside

After the positive feedback from the Pixel team, We had our final week with the Flipside programme. Half of the week we prepared our showcase event at Ustwo, to show our overall experience and to celebrate the end of the programme. Our created our culture and our skills and development throughout the curriculum and network. What did I found out preparing for this event? I was pitching a slide with Michelle, UX designer about the 2nd half of programme with Beyond and Made By M

Reflection 4Aces, Flipside

What did I learn? During the process, I realise my strengths, which is managing the team. I appreciate my team feedback "Loretta is the glue that holds the team together." Especially one of our members was currently battling situations in her personal life. Still, see the potential in her and support her by focusing on her strengths graphic design. She made it to the pitch, which is the second part is unable. As a product manager, my awareness of people's strengths so they ca

Induction Week of Flipside Programme

The first week of the Flipside programme, we meet the 12 flipsides that we are together for the next 12 weeks. I haven't met the majority of people. My previous experience in participating programmes and be aware not hoping too much for the outcome. There have been times a schedule will mislead the result of their agenda. That taught me you create your impact, not others. The first day in anything has the same emotions such as nervous, curious, worry about the people. They ar

Keeping A Promise

I am keeping a promise from a very close friend. My struggle with weight and being a woman in a workplace. Let's say industries progress can be slow. A healthy BMI and I were ready for a plastic surgeon to remove my excess skin which 1,000,00 of situps will not get rid of a problem. I did half marathons and went to the gym five times a week. Years of hard work and my dream is to get the surgeon. On my last consultant with NHS was accepted, unfortunately, reaching for the drea

When you turn 25, and you realise a quarter of a century has gone. You can go either way, embrace or frustrate. There are many emotional, and it is normal. Unfortunately, no one told this experience of highs and lows is normal. The awareness of mental health has changed in the last five years. Someone people get the hit for many reasons, and I am not going to focus on the negative. How you ever felt like this? IS NOT TRUE! I have realised the during my 20's how vital resilien

Mindsets

Before reading this blog, I would highly recommend reading Mindset: How You Can Fulfil Your Potential by Dr Carol Dweck. Shes talks about two mindsets (fixed and growth). A quote from Dr Dweck which I have noticed during my experiences. " It is not always who start out the smartest, who end up the smartest." Fixed Mindset: - Avoid Challenges - Give up quickly due to obstacles - See effort as fruitless - Ignore useful feedback - Be threatened by other success Growth mindset: -
